Edinburgh Zoo has Scotland's first king penguin egg in 17 years

  • A king penguin called Constance laid an egg at Edinburgh Zoo on August 14, the first there in seventeen years.
  • It is being incubated on the feet of its parents, one of whom is a brigadier of the Norwegian King's Guard.
  • If it hatches in the autumn it will be the zoo's first king penguin chick since 2009.
