Sliman Mansour, who painted Palestine in mud when he stopped buying paint, dies at 79
- Born in Birzeit in 1947, he made what is often called the most recognized Palestinian painting.
- During the first Intifada he co-founded a group that boycotted Israeli-made materials and worked in mud, straw, wood and henna instead.
