Lloyds to retire the Halifax brand after 173 years on the high street

Lloyds Banking Group is to phase out the 173-year-old Halifax name, one of Britain's best-known banking brands, folding it into Lloyds across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The rebrand will roll out through 2027; the bank says customers keep their accounts and no jobs will be cut.
