Russia struck Kyiv in waves overnight into Monday, killing at least 14 people and wounding more than 60 in one of the deadliest attacks on the Ukrainian capital this year. Officials said 11 people were killed in the city itself and three more elsewhere in the surrounding region, with rescue crews still searching the rubble of residential buildings as the toll was described as provisional. ## The second deadly strike in a week The bombardment was the second mass-casualty attack on Kyiv in a matter of days. Kyiv has escalated attacks on fuel infrastructure and defense sites inside Russia this year, and Moscow has responded with repeated large-scale barrages against Ukrainian cities.
