He ran off five birdies in a row starting at the third hole, added three more in a four-hole stretch from the ninth, and closed in style, birdieing each of the final four holes and finishing with a 24-foot putt on the 18th. What makes the score notable is that Kim, by his own account, chased it deliberately rather than stumbling into it.
